Freelance since 1999, I offer a friendly, confidential and efficient service to publishers, businesses, organisations, schools, colleges and individuals who require proofreading, copy-editing, on-screen editing or minor rewriting.

Experience and Qualifications
General: BA (Hons) in French; PGCE; City & Guilds Licentiateship in Editorial Skills.

Professional training: The Publishing Training Centre’s Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning (distinction); advanced member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). SfEP courses attended: On-screen Editing 1; Working for a Client; Web Editing and Proofreading.

Subjects
My main areas are educational and religious publishing but I am not limited to these. Editorial work has covered aromatherapy, business practice for therapists, care of the elderly, Christianity, Church history, cookery, dental nursing, education, food hygiene, health, health and safety, human sexuality, hymns, liturgical resources, marriage, massage, mission, occupational therapy, overseas aid and development, religious and moral education, social care, social work, Sunday schools, theology, town planning and vocational courses.

Individuals
I can check through CVs, job application forms and presentations to make sure that typos, spelling errors or dodgy grammar don’t spoil your chances of success.

Students
If you are a student with dyslexia, your university’s student support services can advise you if proofreading help is possible, either for dissertations or for all your assignments.
