Freelance since 1999, I offer a friendly and confidential service of proofreading, copy-editing, on-screen editing, fact checking and minor rewriting to businesses and organisations, individuals, publishers and students.

Businesses and Organisations: Clear, accurate and error-free written communication helps you get your message across, enhances your reputation and attracts clients. Let me check, and suggest improvements for, advertisements, catalogues, flyers, letters, literature for patients/clients, menus, posters, opening times, price lists, etc. No job too small.

Individuals: Errors in important documents can cost you a job or spoil a special occasion. I can proofread items such as application forms, covering letters, CVs, personal statements, invitations, orders of service for marriages, funerals and memorial services.

Publishers: My main areas include, but are not limited to, education, religion (especially Christianity and hymns); health and general medicine. Recent clients: Christian Education, EIDO Healthcare, Leckie & Leckie, Macmillan Education, Pearson Education, Philip Allan Updates and ROOTS for Churches.

Students: I have proofread many assignments for students with dyslexia. Contact your university/college’s Student Support Services to see if you are eligible for funding for proofreading support.

Experience and Qualifications
General: BA (Hons) in French; PGCE; City & Guilds Licentiateship in Editorial Skills.
Professional Training: The Publishing Training Centre’s Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning (distinction); advanced member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). SfEP courses attended: On-screen Editing 1; Working for a Client; Web Editing and Proofreading.
